The Theology of the Cross

Click here to view a chart that details the differences between the “theology of glory” and the “theology of the cross.” I can’t say I agree with every statement made in the table. For example, the placement of “once saved, always saved” baffles me. (Maybe I’m just missing something.) However, I think this particular chart helps us see more clearly what it means to have a cross-centered theology.

I don't know why some of the statements are listed as if they are in opposition to each other. In several I think both the left and right columns are correct. For example, preaching should promote a desire to grow in godliness and an appreciation for Christ's finished work. "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure."
