Kids Say the Funniest Things

In the deep reaches of cyberspace, I came across this list of things kids have said. I’ve been laughing my stomach into cramps…

  1. No matter how hard you try, you can’t baptize cats.
  2. When your mom is mad at your dad, don’t let her brush your hair.
  3. If your sister hits you, don’t hit her back. They always catch the second person.
  4. Never ask your 3-year-old brother to hold a tomato.
  5. You can’t trust dogs to watch your food.
  6. Don’t sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.
  7. Puppies still have bad breath even after eating a tic-tac.
  8. Never hold a dustbuster and a cat at the same time.
  9. School lunches stick to the wall.
  10. You can’t hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.

Are these some of the things you said as a kid, Cap?

I agree with all but the last one. You actually can hide broccoli in a glass of milk, in fact I have to admit I did it more than once as a kid. Then you pretend to be drinking the milk on the way to the sink, but instead just pour it down when Mom isn't looking.
It worked pretty well I might add.

Ya, I was pretty mischievous when I was little.

Hmmm...should I be worried that I employ most all of these axioms almost every day? (except for the ones about cats...I don't like cats...cats don't like me...I mean, cats and I have a mutual respect for each other of course, but it's not like we're about to cuddle up on the couch and watch Homeward Bound or anything...was there a cat in Homeward Bound? In conclusion, Bruce Broughton is awesome.)

Brendan,
You still let your mom comb your hair? :b

It’s interesting that you mention Bruce Broughton because I just watched The Rescuers Down Under last Tuesday (yes, at Chloe’s request) and I always liked the music—especially in the opening credits.

P.S. For anyone else reading: the Brendan above is not from Cornerstone.

Not from Cornerstone?! Then what was that worship service I attended? Or the informational church documentary I scored? ;)

I kid. You know I would attend Cornerstone with you if I only lived a couple thousand miles closer. Keep up the good blogging!
